Paula Brainard has been a member of Chesapeake Search Dogs since 2009 and achieved the position of Operational Flanker in 2011. In 2012, Paula became an Operational K-9 Handler with her Air Scent dog, Liam. Paula currently serves Chesapeake Search Dogs as our Director of Operations. Paula’s current certifications include NASAR SARTECH II, NASAR Wilderness Air Scent K-9 II and NASAR Canine Human Remains Detection Land. A resident of Cecil County, Paula’s involvement in the team is supported by her husband, and their two daughters.
Liam is a Border Collie who began training with Chesapeake Search Dogs in 2010, at seven months old. Liam achieved his NASAR Wilderness Air Scent K-9 II certification and became an Operational K-9 with the team in 2012 and in 2014, Liam achieved the NASAR Wilderness Human Remains Detection Land certification. His latest achievement is the Forensic Cadaver certification. Liam loves working, is crazy for tennis balls, and enjoys agility work.
